Three years of work, countless hours of writing, refining, and perfecting – ‘Like Breezy’ is more than just an album. For Masa Agustin, a Filipino-Japanese singer and professional dancer who has called Hong Kong home since 2015, it is a deeply personal project, shaped by his experiences, influences, and growth as an artist. The record unfolds across nine original tracks, including highlights such as ‘Situation’, ‘Hit It Like Dat’, and the titular ‘Like Breezy’. But the story does not end here. A deluxe edition is on the horizon, with five more tracks set to deepen the sound and expand the world Masa has created.

Elevating Independent Music
From the very start, Masa knew that his collaborators couldn’t be just anyone. They had to share his vision – artists who weren’t just talented but equally committed to pushing independent music forward. He found that in three distinct voices. There’s Royze, a US-based hip-hop/R&B artist bringing his own flavour to the mix. Then there’s Wesley Jamison, a French-born, Hong Kong-based R&B singer who’s not only part of the hip-hop collective Xabiitat but also co-founder of Mama Told Me 852 & RnB Hours, two platforms shaping the local scene. And finally, Shawn Simon, better known as Kalou – a Hong Kong-born, Sydney-based rapper and songwriter of Indian/Filipino descent, with more than 378,000 Spotify streams under his belt. Each of them adds something different to the album, but they all share one thing: a belief in music that’s independent, unapologetic, and real.
“When creating this album, I knew I wanted to collaborate with other artists,” explains Masa. “But beyond being the right fit for each song, the deciding factor came down to working with people who had the same goal – to elevate one another as independent artists.”

The Start Of Something Bigger
Beyond the music itself, Masa hopes ‘Like Breezy’ serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring creatives. “I hope to inspire other artists like me in Hong Kong or back home,” he says. “Do not be afraid to keep going, keep trying, keep creating, and keep putting stuff out! If you love what you do, that’s all that matters. Remember, there is beauty in fear! Sometimes, one must feel fear and harness its superpower to push through risks. Because the more risk you take, the more lucky you get. It means you’ll say yes to more things, do things out of your comfort zone, accomplish beautiful things, and look back later in life to a well-lived life without any regrets.”
With ‘Like Breezy’, Masa Agustin steps confidently into the music scene, carving out his place with a sound that is both fresh and deeply rooted in his influences. His debut album brings together a mix of styles, each track a reflection of his journey as an artist. Performing in Hong Kong has always been a dream, with Clockenflap standing as one of his ultimate goals. Now, as he prepares for live shows, the release of ‘Like Breezy’ feels like the start of something bigger. More music is on the way, along with new collaborations and creative risks. This is just the beginning.
