Ah, music festivals. A few days where your sleep schedule collapses, your camera roll doubles overnight, and you return home still finding traces of the weekend in your tote bag. But the best ones are a snapshot of a city, a scene, a mood.
One weekend youโre catching smooth jazz at Java Jazz in Indonesia, the next youโre roaming Wonderfruitโs eco-dream in Thailand, or watching Clockenflap light up against Hong Kongโs skyline. If 2026 is calling for something different, read on โ these are the festivals worth planning a trip around.

Hong Kong

Clockenflap
Itโs not often a festival feels this tied to its setting, but Clockenflap is the Hong Kong exception. Taking over the Central Harbourfront each year, it turns the waterfront into a three-day mix of live music, art, and great food โ with multiple stages that move from indie rock to big electronic moments. The 2026 dates are still to be confirmed, but past editions have pulled in major international names โ from Arctic Monkeys to bbno$ and Wu-Tang Clan โ while giving plenty of space to rising local talent too.

Shi Fu Miz
Whether youโre going for the music, the breather, or simply a day that feels far from the city, Shi Fu Miz is designed to hit that sweet spot. For 2026, itโs moving to Tai Tong Organic EcoPark, bringing house and techno into an intentionally small-scale setting that reads more like a nature-side escape than a standard festival. Taking place on 21 March, it stays intimate and purpose-driven: single-use plastics are banned, food waste collection points are in place, and sustainability runs through the entire experience โ including eco-led collaborations that keep the conversation active on-site.

Dream Concert
For K-pop fans who want the full stadium-scale experience without leaving the city, Dream Concert is the one to lock in. Making its Hong Kong debut on 6 to 7 February, the mega show is set to take over Kai Tak Sports Park with a multi-generation roster of idol groups (with CBX and The Boyz already announced). Across two nights, youโre in for back-to-back hits, choreography, and special stages created for the festival โ all powered by big production made to suit an open stadium setting.

Thailand

Wonderfruit, Pattaya
Letโs be honest โ Wonderfruit isnโt a festival you go to only for the artists. Held every December at The Fields at Siam Country Club near Pattaya, it feels more like a five-day cultural retreat, where art, food, design, and wellness sit on equal footing with the music. Sustainability runs through everything, from zero-waste initiatives and bamboo-built structures to farm-to-table dining that feels integral to the experience. And then come the nights: youโll get electronic and techno sets that turn the site into a full-spectrum rush of light and sound. When itโs time to slow down, the daytime programme shifts the pace with yoga, sound baths, guided meditation, and interactive art installations that make it easy to switch off.

Tomorrowland, Pattaya
Tomorrowland is making its first-ever, full-scale Asia debut in Thailand from 11 to 13 December, taking over Wisdom Valley in Pattaya (Chonburi Province) for three nights of high-impact, big-stage production. The theme and line-up havenโt been announced yet, but the blueprint is classic Tomorrowland: showpiece stages, newly built structures across a vast site, and a setup designed for up to 50,000 people per day. Instead of camping, Tomorrowland Thailand is going the resort route, with hotel-and-shuttle packages expected to drop soon โ so if youโve ever wanted Tomorrowland without the tent, this is the one to keep on your radar.

Fuji Rock Festival, Niigata
Fuji Rock Festival pairs a mountain setting that makes the whole weekend feel like an escape, with programming that runs from rock and electronic to more unexpected finds. Set at Naeba Ski Resort (around 1,000 metres above sea level), it returns 24 to 26 July with 200+ local and international artists across seven stages, led by the iconic Green Stage. Away from the sets, thereโs plenty to explore โ including the Dragondola for panoramic views โ plus late-night action at the Red Marquee and a major food stop at The Oasis with 30+ stalls. Camping, ski lodges, and nearby stays are all options, but accommodation goes quickly, so it pays to book early.

Summer Sonic, Tokyo/Osaka
If youโve ever wanted to do Summer Sonic the right way, the 25th anniversary edition is the one to circle. Running 14 to 16 August, Japanโs dual-city giant is back in Tokyo (ZOZO Marine Stadium + Makuhari Messe) and Osaka (Expo โ70 Park), turning two major hubs into one shared weekend of big-stage spectacle. The 2026 line-up hasnโt dropped yet, but Summer Sonicโs whole thing is the mix โ international top-billers alongside homegrown J-rock favourites โ with pop, rock, hip-hop and everything in between on constant rotation. Add the food stalls, merch drops, and that sweaty, sun-soaked festival buzz, and itโs hard to think of a better way to spend mid-August.

Java Jazz Festival, Jakarta
For anyone chasing a great jazz weekend, Java Jazz Festival is the one to plan a trip around. Returning 29 to 31 May 2026, itโs moving into Jakartaโs newest mega venue, NICE, PIK 2, for three packed days of 100+ performances spanning classic jazz, soul, pop, and genre-hopping sets. The 2026 line-up hasnโt been announced yet, but past editions have brought in names like Laufey alongside local and international acts, giving you a feel for how wide the booking tends to go.

Day Zero, Bali
From Damian Lazarus to key names from the Crosstown Rebels orbit, Day Zero makes its Bali debut on 17 April, taking over GWK Cultural Park in Uluwatu. The line-up spans electronic selectors and live performers (including Brunello and Francis Mercier), with immersive art and a fully wrapped-in production world โ presented by Damian Lazarus and Crosstown Rebels in partnership with Savaya Group. Itโs framed as more than a typical festival night: a Tulum-rooted, jungle-leaning gathering with ritual-inspired staging.

South Korea

World DJ Festival, Seoul
As well as the headliners, the line-up typically runs deep, pairing big international crowd-pullers like Zedd and Marshmello with rising K-EDM names. World DJ Festival returns for its 20th anniversary on 13 to 14 June 2026, taking over Seoulland, Seoulโs iconic amusement park, for two days of dance music, major stage production, and multiple stages spanning everything from hands-in-the-air mainstage sets to darker techno sides. With rollercoasters and carousels as your backdrop, itโs one of Koreaโs biggest EDM weekends โ and a must if you want a rave with a distinctly Seoul setting.

Seoul Jazz Festival, Seoul
The Seoul Jazz Festival is back from 22 to 24 May, taking over Olympic Park for three days of live music that stretches far past jazz. Itโs one of Koreaโs most loved fixtures for a reason: the line-up is known for pairing jazz greats with pop, rock, soul, and hip-hop surprises, so it stays exciting no matter what youโre into. Past editions have featured Jacob Collier, Epik High, RAYE, and Tower of Power, which gives you a sense of the scope. Spread across the parkโs open-air stages โ including the 88 Garden โ itโs the kind of festival you can settle into for a full day, with golden-hour sets, big brass moments, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes Seoul feel a little softer for the weekend.

Philippines
Playback Music Festival, Philippines
If a full-on festival weekend feels like a bit much, Playback is the perfect alternative: a one-night blast of emo, punk, and pop-rock throwbacks made for singing along, grabbing merch, and heading home happy. In 2026, itโs running as a two-city stop โ Manila at Mall of Asia Arena on 8 May, then Cebu at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino on 9 May โ with Dashboard Confessional, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Faber Drive on the bill. Beyond the sets, it keeps the throwback spirit going with photo moments, band merch, food stalls, and pop-up bars, so you can treat it like a compact day-out that still feels like a proper night out.

Vietnam
Equation Festival, Vietnam
In the misty mountain valleys of Mai Chau, Equation Festival turns Vietnamโs countryside into a three-day pilgrimage for fans of underground electronic music. Set across 3 to 5 April 2026ย and curated by Club Savage Hanoi, Clichรฉ Records, and Fragrant Harbour, it takes over the Mo Luong Cave, where DJs play into an ancient limestone chamber and the bass ricochets off the rock like it was made to echo. By day, the action moves out to the open fields beneath the Pu Kha range for sunlit sets and wide-sky dancing, before night pulls it back inside, with lights, shadows, and a cavernous soundscape that feels otherworldly.
