Exploring Project 21, The Versatile Event Space Hiding In Wong Chuk Hang

Hong Kong’s event venues are plentiful, but finding one that does it all – intimate dinner one evening, full-blown party the next – is harder than it sounds. Project 21, housed within an industrial building in Wong Chuk Hang, was created precisely for that purpose. We stepped inside to see what makes it one of the city’s most versatile spaces for private and corporate events, and here’s what stood out.

1. An industrial Setting With Real Character

Located in the E Tat Industrial Building in Wong Chuk Hang – just three minutes from the MTR and a 10-minute ride from Central – Project 21 occupies one of Hong Kong’s most distinctive urban districts. The space embraces its surroundings: smooth concrete floors, a black ceiling, a wooden bar, and minimalist furniture give it an industrial-chic atmosphere that photographs beautifully and feels even better in person.

2. A Space That Adapts With Ease

Seated dinners for 30. Standing receptions for 60. Intimate gatherings or large-scale corporate events – Project 21 was designed to accommodate all of it without feeling like a compromise. Different seating zones change the feel of the room entirely: a lounge area for relaxed conversation, a long communal table for group dining, and a karaoke setup for when the night takes a turn. Few venues in Hong Kong offer this kind of range under one roof.

3. Food And Drink, Handled

The on-site kitchen is fully equipped – professional fridge, cooking stove, oven, and plancha for grilling – giving guests the option to self-cater, bring their own chef, or work with Bain Marie, the sister catering company operating from within the same building. For those who want more, cocktail packages, free-flow options, and live food stations can all be arranged, from smoking stations and meat carving to popcorn and candyfloss for younger guests. A dedicated bartender can be brought in for the evening, and the bar counter is well set up throughout. Between the kitchen and the catering options, almost any food and drinks brief can be met.

4. The Details That Make It Memorable

A ping pong table that would make Marty Supreme proud. A swing. A shower available for longer events. These are the touches that elevate Project 21 from a functional hire space into something with genuine personality – a venue that feels like it was built by people who clearly know what a good event actually feels like.
