Together For Tai Po: Resources, Hotlines And Ways To Help

We are still grieving the devastating fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, which broke out on Tuesday, 26 November 2025 and tore through multiple residential blocks wrapped in scaffolding and construction mesh. As of 28 November, authorities report at least 128 deaths, more than 70 injured and hundreds still unaccounted for โ€“ in Hong Kongโ€™s deadliest residential fire in decades. The scale of loss is almost impossible to comprehend: thousands displaced, families still searching for loved ones, and first responders and volunteers working around the clock on rescue and recovery.

At Friday Club, our hearts are with everyone affected. Yesterday, we shared that we would pause our usual lifestyle content to hold space for grief and solidarity โ€“ and to centre community care. Today, weโ€™re using our platform to highlight practical ways to give and receive help: where to donate, where to seek shelter, and who to contact if you or someone you know needs support.

Standing With Tai Po, Standing With Each Other

This fire has exposed painful questions about safety, housing and accountability โ€“ but it has also shown, once again, how quickly Hong Kong people show up for one another. From residents organising donation drives in their own estates to NGOs opening emergency beds and restaurants offering hot meals through the night, the city has moved as a community.

At Friday Club, we will continue to share verified resources, highlight relief efforts and update this guide as more information becomes available. If you know of reputable initiatives weโ€™ve missed, please email us at contact@fridayclubmag.com with details so we can help amplify them.

For now, if youโ€™re able, give what you can โ€“ whether thatโ€™s a donation, a blood contribution, a spare blanket, a volunteer shift, or simply checking in on someone who might be struggling.

We may not be able to undo what has happened in Tai Po, but we can stand together in how we respond.

Editor’s Note: The information above is accurate at time of publication, but needs change quickly. Please check each organisationโ€™s website or social media for the latest updates before visiting in person or sending physical items.
