Lane Crawford’s new Bamboo Cotton Pillow Pads and Ultra Soft Facial Towel promise reduced tugging, less product waste and a kinder way to cleanse.
We have all watched an expensive toner disappear into a cotton pad before it even reaches our face, and the waste is maddening to watch – not to mention the endless rubbing it takes to remove waterproof mascara. For products used almost every day, cotton pads and facial towels are usually overlooked.
Lane Crawford is changing that with two new skincare accessories created to make cleansing, toning and make-up removal smoother and more efficient. After two years of research, extensive testing and more than 10 prototypes, the luxury retailer has introduced its Bamboo Cotton Pillow Pads and Ultra Soft Facial Towel – practical essentials designed to help the products already on your shelf perform better, without adding another serum or complicated step.
The Bamboo Cotton Pillow Pads address the common problem of cotton soaking up more toner than it releases, while the Ultra Soft Facial Towel offers a smoother alternative for cleansing, drying and even at-home masking. Both are now available at Lane Crawford stores across Hong Kong and online. Here’s what you need to know.

Bamboo Cotton Pillow Pads
These aren’t your typical flat cotton rounds. Each pad has an outer layer made with 100% natural bamboo fibre, selected for its antibacterial properties, surrounding a soft 100% cotton filling.
The texture allows the pad to move across the face with minimal friction, making it suitable for removing make-up or residual cleanser without repeated pulling. Dampen it with warm water or micellar water, slip it over your fingertip and let the pillow-shaped pocket provide greater control around smaller areas of the face.
Its most useful feature, however, may be the No-Drip Hold. The cotton centre retains toner or serum until the pad touches your skin, helping more of the product reach your face instead of disappearing between your fingers or into the pad itself.
The micro-embossed surface also gives the pads enough cushioning for morning toning and serum application without feeling bulky. In practice, they turn one of the least exciting parts of a skincare routine into something surprisingly satisfying.

Ultra Soft Facial Towel
Anyone who has attempted to remove a clay mask with a regular towel knows how quickly a relaxing skincare moment can devolve into aggressive scrubbing. Lane Crawford’s Ultra Soft Facial Towel offers a gentler alternative.
Crafted from 100% viscose, each sheet has a soft, texture-free surface that follows the contours of the face. Glycerin is worked into the fabric and activates on contact with water, adding hydration while the towel cleanses.
Press a damp sheet over the eyes for several seconds to loosen eye make-up, use it to wipe away a clay mask or keep it dry to absorb excess water after cleansing. The sheets can also be cut into smaller pieces, saturated with toner or essence and placed over targeted areas as a DIY sheet mask.
Dermatologically tested for sensitive skin, the towel is a good fit for anyone who finds traditional face cloths too abrasive or disposable wipes too heavily textured.
Price: HKD$72 for 80 sheets

Are They Worth Adding to Your Routine?
Neither product is going to replace your cleanser, toner or favourite serum. Instead, they improve the steps connecting those products: how evenly toner is applied, how carefully make-up is removed and how much formula ends up on the skin rather than lost along the way.
The Bamboo Cotton Pillow Pads win out for anyone tired of wasting expensive skincare, while the Ultra Soft Facial Towel earns its place through sheer versatility. Cleansing cloth, make-up remover, drying towel and DIY mask material in one pack? We can work with that.
