Sound Of The Millennium
When Kings of Convenience emerged at the turn of the millennium, their sound felt almost countercultural. Framed by delicate guitar arrangements, subtle melodies, and harmonies sung with remarkable control, their debut album ‘Quiet Is the New Loud’ introduced a softer alternative to the louder indie landscape of the era.
Songs such as ‘Winning a Battle, Losing the War’ helped establish the duo internationally, while audiences across Asia embraced their distinctly intimate approach to songwriting. In Thailand, their music has long occupied a unique place, soundtracking countless cafes, playlists, and late-night listening sessions over the years.
Their appeal has never relied on trends. Instead, Kings of Convenience have built a catalogue with lasting pull, shaped by emotional honesty and a softness that continues to connect across generations of listeners.

A Return Worth Waiting For
After more than a decade away from the studio, Kings of Convenience returned in 2021 with ‘Peace or Love,’ reaffirming the qualities that first made them so widely cherished. The album reunited the duo with longtime collaborator Feist and demonstrated that their soft-spoken, finely honed songwriting remained as captivating as ever.
Their upcoming Bangkok performance offers audiences the opportunity to revisit the songs that first introduced them to the duo while experiencing recent material in a setting that feels especially suited to their acoustic style. SiamPic Hall’s seated theatre format promises an evening where every harmony, lyric, and softer detail can be fully appreciated.

The Next Chapter Of Maho Rasop Series
Following the announcement of Caribou as the opening act for Maho Rasop Series 2026, taking place on 27 November at Ambience Space, Kings of Convenience adds another purposeful name to a programme that continues to bring internationally acclaimed artists to Thailand outside the traditional festival format.
The series will continue throughout the final months of the year, with further artist announcements expected from the three organisers in the coming weeks.
