Código 1530 Expands Across The Region
Though Código 1530 may not be a new name to tequila collectors, the move by Pernod Ricard gives the brand its strongest presence in the region to date.
Inspired by a private recipe shared among a select group of respected Mexican families and skilled jimadores, Código 1530 is produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, using long-established methods. Made with only agave, water and yeast, the tequila is rested and aged in French oak Cabernet barrels sourced from Napa.
Simple yet masterful, Código 1530 contains no flavourings, chemicals or sweeteners, gaining its appeal solely from the tequila’s purity and expert production.
Under Pernod Ricard’s direct distribution and management, Código 1530 will be more widely available to drinkers in Hong Kong and Macau than ever. With demand for premium tequila growing throughout the region, the brand now has a valuable opportunity to expand the reach of its world-class spirit.

COA Serves A Taste Of Mexico
To celebrate this new chapter, COA turns its Central address into a mini Mexican getaway until 31 August. A long-time fixture on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, the agave-forward bar is offering two Código 1530 cocktails designed by founder Jay Khan.
The Cantarito Chino (HKD$128) updates the classic Cantarito with smooth Código 1530 Rosa Blanco, green Sichuan pepper, orange, grapefruit soda and a rim of grasshopper and chilli salt, connecting the tequila’s Mexican roots with Asian spice.
The Verdita (HKD$128) layers Código 1530 Blanco with mezcal jalapeño, Cointreau, pineapple, lime, agave nectar, cilantro and a Tajín rim, capturing a sun-soaked Mexican garden in cocktail form.
As Hong Kong drinkers become increasingly curious about agave, mezcal and top-shelf tequilas, COA’s ‘Mexican Escape’ offers an early glimpse of agave’s growing profile across Asia. Tequila is leaving shot culture behind, with Código 1530 helping position the spirit as something to sip, explore and seek out this summer.
