The Magic of Tomorrowland returns to Shanghai this October, expanding into a two-day indoor festival at Hero Dome on the Bund from 17 to 18 October.
Following last year’s successful debut, Tomorrowland Shanghai is bringing its maximalist world-building back on a larger scale, turning the venue into an immersive universe of light, techno and imagination.

More Than Just A Stage
What makes Tomorrowland Shanghai feel genuinely exciting this year is the way it pairs a bigger format with a more concentrated sense of immersion. Moving indoors gives the festival a tighter canvas, with the experience centred on Hero Dome and its spectacular Planaxis-themed main stage.
Instead of positioning itself as another large-scale music festival, Tomorrowland Shanghai is being shaped as a full-sensory environment, combining state-of-the-art production, immersive visual effects and a design direction that makes the venue feel like its own Tomorrowland universe.
The indoor setting also gives the team greater control over every detail: how the sound travels through the room, how the lighting builds from early evening to peak hours, and how visuals surround the crowd rather than simply sitting behind the DJ.
Used well, Hero Dome could turn the night into something more cinematic, imaginative and appropriately over-the-top.
Two Nights, One Expanding Story
While the full artist list is still under wraps, the two-day format gives Tomorrowland Shanghai room to unfold in chapters. Each night is set to bring a different lineup and creative direction, pairing major names in global electronic music with rising local talent.
Away from the decks, Tomorrowland Shanghai is taking shape as a complete festival world. Across the weekend, Hero Dome will feature exclusive merch, experience zones, interactive brand activations and carefully selected F&B outlets, giving guests plenty to explore between sets.
It’s Tomorrowland doing what it does best: taking a theme and extending it into a walkable world that feels alive from every angle.
Before The Beat Drops – Tickets & Perks
Tomorrowland Shanghai’s bigger second edition signals another move in the festival’s long-term Asia strategy. If this year’s two-day indoor format connects with fans, The Magic of Tomorrowland could soon become a regular fixture on the regional calendar.
Pre-registration opens on 25 June via the INS Land app and WeChat Mini Programme. Fans who successfully pre-register and secure tickets will also receive an official The Magic of Tomorrowland Treasure Case, an exclusive collectible designed to make the experience feel even more special.
Full ticket and pricing details will be announced in August across Tomorrowland’s official social platforms, including Instagram, WeChat, RedNote and more.
